To be honest, I have ProxMox running now for<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1024\" height=\"119\" src=\"https:\/\/jadijkstra.nl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/image-54-1024x119.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-562\" srcset=\"https:\/\/jadijkstra.nl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/image-54-1024x119.png 1024w, https:\/\/jadijkstra.nl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/image-54-300x35.png 300w, https:\/\/jadijkstra.nl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/image-54-768x89.png 768w, https:\/\/jadijkstra.nl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/image-54.png 1374w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Yeah, 14 days now doing nothing, but collecting dust and keeping our cat warm<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"768\" height=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/jadijkstra.nl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/IMG_7781-768x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-563\" srcset=\"https:\/\/jadijkstra.nl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/IMG_7781-768x1024.jpg 768w, https:\/\/jadijkstra.nl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/IMG_7781-225x300.jpg 225w, https:\/\/jadijkstra.nl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/IMG_7781-1152x1536.jpg 1152w, https:\/\/jadijkstra.nl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/IMG_7781-1536x2048.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/jadijkstra.nl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/IMG_7781-scaled.jpg 1920w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>It&#8217;s just.. well, for me it does not fit, I have 2 items which still annoy me:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Whenever I boot, the network interface does not come up, this is a known issue and I did not got it resolved<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>When trying to reboot this machine it will hang forever, so maintenance or doing a reboot always requires physical intervention which I don&#8217;t want to do as it should run and reboot unattended.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>So, what I did today, (because of the limitations of the onboard NIC&#8217;s for ESXi), I ordered 2 USB to Ethernet NICS, I choose TP-LINK U300:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/jadijkstra.nl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/TP-Link-UE300-380x1024.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-564\" width=\"190\" height=\"512\" srcset=\"https:\/\/jadijkstra.nl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/TP-Link-UE300-380x1024.jpeg 380w, https:\/\/jadijkstra.nl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/TP-Link-UE300-111x300.jpeg 111w, https:\/\/jadijkstra.nl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/TP-Link-UE300.jpeg 445w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 190px) 100vw, 190px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>They have the Realtek RTL8153 chipset, which is supported by the fling <a href=\"https:\/\/flings.vmware.com\/usb-network-native-driver-for-esxi#requirements\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/flings.vmware.com\/usb-network-native-driver-for-esxi#requirements\">https:\/\/flings.vmware.com\/usb-network-native-driver-for-esxi#requirements<\/a> so they will arrive tomorrow and hopefully this will fulfill my VMware heart installing ESXi (I think) version 7 for  now.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So, stay tuned as we proceed for the installation tomorrow!
